MOBOTIX, manufacturer of digital, network-based high-resolution video security systems, reached a total revenue of 23.6 million EUR and an EBIT of 4.4 million EUR in the fiscal year of 2006/2007. The increase in revenue corresponds to a 52% rise compared to the previous fiscal year. The EBIT margin has increased to more than 18%.
The company with 130+ employees at its headquarters in Kaiserslautern, Germany, sells its solutions around the globe using distributors and qualified partners and is currently exporting 56% of its products. With these results for 2006/2007, MOBOTIX continues on its successful road since the company's creation in 1999.
Because of the inexpensive and decentralized architecture, the video security systems manufactured by MOBOTIX are suited for a wide range of applications, from the smallest systems to large-scale surveillance solutions. Solutions can be found in airports, train stations, universities, transport companies, but also in the industry for remote monitoring and automation purposes.
The project at the Abu Dhabi International Airport is an impressive demonstration of excellence in video surveillance solutions based on MOBOTIX IP video technology. MOBOTIX technology has been chosen because of its unmatched resolution, the low storage requirements and the reduced costs compared to other systems.
The highlights of the system are unattended object detection and face recognition, centralized command and control, mission-critical failsafe redundancy throughout the network and secure offsite storage. New phases are still being implemented with greater emphasis on smart video capabilities.
Since August 1, 2007, Henk Schotman reinforces the MOBOTIX sales team as Business Development Manager for the Benelux. In this function, he will promote the strong growth of MOBOTIX sales in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In his previous position at the Netherlands-based distributor CNI Europe, Henk Schotman was also responsible for IP camera sales.
Since September 1, 2007, Bo Orbjerg works as Business Development Manager for Scandinavia and the Baltic states. Similar to Henk Schotman, Bo Orbjerg has many years of experience in the IP camera market. Before working for MOBOTIX, Bo Orbjerg was responsible for IP camera sales at the Scandinavian distributor EET Nordic.

The French engineering company Ingenica has been tasked to install a MOBOTIX network-based video surveillance solution at the Parc des Princes soccer stadium in Paris.
The stadium is home of the French premier league soccer club Paris Saint German and has seen quite a number of international games, such as the European Cup final 1984, the 3rd place final of the 1998 World Cup and the Uefa Cup final 1998 between Inter Milano and Lazio Rome. After a total overhaul in 1972, the stadium can hold 50,000 spectators.
The new video surveillance system has a special focus on monitoring the fans as they enter the gates of the stadium. The cameras are MOBOTIX D12 and M12 high-resolution IP network cameras, just like at the soccer stadium in Kaiserlautern, Germany. Some cameras will also be used for perimeter surveillance during the games and for detecting intruders if the stadium is not used. In order to cope with the large amount of video data, Ingenica has installed a storage system that conforms to the requirements of the new French law on video surveillance.
In addition, Ingenica plans to set up a 3D face recognition system that will provide access control to subscribed spectators of the club. This project is currently being presented at the French office for the protection of the privacy for approval.
Asia, Middle East, United States - MOBOTIX is present at the largest exhibitions around the globe almost simultaneously. For the first time, MOBOTIX has presented its IP network cameras at the GDSF, the Global Digital Surveillance Forum in Shanghai, at the end of August and at GITEX in Dubai, the third largest IT expo worldwide at the beginning of September. While not a newcomer at the ISC East in New York, MOBOTIX' participation at this exposition also proved to be a major success.
